It was with great pleasure last week that we launched our first research publication, Informing Policy and Practice: 2014 Student Equity in Higher Education Research Grants Program Projects, at the 2015 Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE) conference held at the University of Notre Dame Australia.
Informing Policy and Practice showcases the twelve research projects the NCSEHE funded via its 2014 Student Equity in Higher Education Research Grants Program. The projects were undertaken by colleagues from fifteen Australian universities and six research institutions, and each layout within the publication also features commentary from an additional twelve policy analysts, academics and practitioners.
Discussing the publication and the Student Equity in Higher Education Research Grants Program more broadly, NCSEHE Director Professor Sue Trinidad reiterated the importance of sustained efforts in addressing disadvantage and the barriers to higher education.
“The research the NCSEHE funded addresses different, but related, aspects of student equity in higher education and brings evidence-based recommendations to the consideration of policy-makers, practitioners and university leadership alike.”
