Research Design Lead

The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) is looking for a Research Design Lead to steward our national program of trials, quasi-experimental designs (QEDs), and other rigorous research studies.

You’ll be responsible for translating nationally significant equity questions into a prioritised and adaptive research program, delivered through ACSES-led work and externally commissioned projects.

Working within our Research and Policy Program team, you’ll collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to:

support the Program Director to develop and maintain a national research program focused on higher education student equity
monitor emerging evidence, policy priorities, and sector developments to ensure the research program remains current and responsive
provide specialist methodological advice on randomised controlled trials, QEDs, and related evaluation approaches to commissioned study teams
build sector-wide capability in trial and QED methodology by helping equity practitioners design and conduct rigorous evaluations
prepare reports and communicate research progress, findings, and insights to ACSES and the broader equity sector.

If you have experience in trial or QED design methodology, providing methodological advice to research teams, and developing or coordinating strategic research programs, we’d love to hear from you.

Project Manager – Student Outreach and Tracker Project

The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our Student Outreach and Tracker Project—a national initiative to improve the visibility and coordination of university outreach and strengthen evidence-informed planning.

Based at Curtin University in Perth, you’ll work with our Data Program team to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of the project from commencement to completion.

We’re looking for an experienced project professional who enjoys bringing people, data, and ideas together to:

develop and maintain project plans, timelines, evaluation approaches, budgets, communication strategies, and other project documentation
build productive relationships with participating universities and a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
coordinate the collection, standardisation, and integration of outreach, school, and community data
support the development and implementation of data sharing arrangements with participating universities
Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and translate findings into clear reports, data visualisations, and other project outputs.

If you have experience managing complex projects, building relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, and turning complex information into clear, practical insights, we’d love to hear from you.

Program Manager – Research and Policy Program

The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) is seeking a Program Manager to lead the planning, management, and continuous development of our Research and Policy Program.

Based at Curtin University in Perth, you’ll work with a diverse range of stakeholders across the higher education sector to:

provide strategic direction, oversee program delivery, and ensure initiatives achieve meaningful outcomes
develop and review strategic program plans aligned with organisational priorities and emerging sector needs
monitor and evaluate program performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring objectives are achieved
prepare high-quality reports, briefing materials, and program documentation
contribute to the ongoing development of a nationally significant program responding to evolving priorities in student equity.

This is an opportunity to manage a nationally significant program encompassing major research initiatives, nationally competitive funding schemes, and in-house research focused on strategic priorities in higher education student equity.
