About the Role
The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) is seeking a talented Communications Officer to join our Regional University Study Hubs (RUSH) Network team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to improving higher education accessibility and success for marginalised and disadvantaged students across Australia. The Communications Officer role will specifically assist the Regional University Study Hubs (RUSH) Network. The Communications Officer assists with the development of communication materials and/or marketing collateral and is responsible for maintaining and updating written content across traditional and/or digital media channels. This includes writing and editing communication materials for publication to relevant audiences. The incumbent may also be responsible for coordinating requirements for local events. Key Responsibilities:

  • Website Management and Design: Maintain and improve website UX/UI using Statamic to update the RUSH Network website, ensuring optimal user experience and functionality.
  • Email Marketing and Social Media Management: Create quarterly newsletters with Mailerlite or similar software and develop engaging content across various social media platforms.
  • Graphic Design and Event Program Creation: Create and edit photos using Adobe Creative Cloud or Figma, and design event programs with InDesign or similar software.
  • Multimedia Content Preparation: Clip and prepare webinar videos for website upload while ensuring high-quality presentation.
  • Data Analysis: Retrieve and analyse data from Google Analytics to inform design, content decisions, and marketing strategies.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate strong attention to detail while managing multiple projects effectively to ensure high-quality outcomes.

To be successful for this position you will need:

  1. A relevant degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  2. Demonstrated digital media skills and experience in the use of web content management systems.
  3. Demonstrated professional writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate and timely communication materials.
  4. Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff across all levels of an organisation.
  5. Demonstrated ability to organise time and work activities according to priorities and to meet deadlines.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as well as effectively as part of a team.

Its aim is to provide support to staff in Regional University Study Hubs/Centres across Australia and foster collaboration through a community of practice approach. The activities of the RUSH Network are informed by the needs of each hub and their staff, guided by the RUSH Network Advisory Committee and funded by Australian Department of Education
