Event information

Autism Understanding’s Newcastle, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane workshops will be held as LIVE Interactive Webinar Events: Join them via Zoom from your home, school etc.
They will be making use of the Chat function for Q and A throughout the workshop to get to know you and tailor discussions to the needs of the group.

Workshops will be held in the time zone of the original event location (they will send emails to remind you). Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders: Practical Strategies for Teachers (also suitable for Teachers’ Aides, School Executive, Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists).

Would you like practical tips for identifying, connecting with and supporting children and adolescents on the autism spectrum? The two-day workshops include videos of children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, their teachers and their families so you can better understand the world from an autism perspective. You will participate in scenarios and group activities, and will receive workshop notes including many proformas and visuals to use in your school or service.

Note: Austism Understanding will monitor COVID-19 travel restrictions, school closures etc and switch to Live Webinar Events for further locations if necessary.

This workshop will contribute six hours of Self Identified PD addressing 1.5.2, 4.1.2 and 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation.
