The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success acknowledges Indigenous peoples across Australia as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which the nation’s campuses are situated. With a history spanning more than 60,000 years as the original educators, Indigenous peoples hold a unique place in our nation. We recognise the importance of their knowledge and culture, and reflect the principles of participation, equity, and cultural respect in our work. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future, and consider it an honour to learn from our Indigenous colleagues, partners, and friends.

Event information

Building on the momentum of last year’s inaugural symposium, the Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) will be hosting “Student Equity in an Era of Change 2025”—a crucial gathering to advance equity in higher education. With insights from international experts, government representatives, and diverse student voices, this two-day event will explore transformative practices and policies aimed at creating accessible and inclusive educational pathways.

The program will feature keynote speakers from both global and domestic backgrounds, focusing on cutting-edge strategies in student support, resources for students with disabilities, and the expansion of alternative educational pathways through TAFE, Study Hubs, and regional centres. The symposium also includes student-led panels and sessions co-designed by an advisory committee of students, who represent a variety of equity groups and bring first-hand insights into the challenges and advancements within the sector.

ACSES would like to acknowledge the generous support of the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion at the University of Technology Sydney, who is providing the venue and event support services.

More information about registration options will be made available soon.
