The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success acknowledges Indigenous peoples across Australia as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which the nation’s campuses are situated. With a history spanning more than 60,000 years as the original educators, Indigenous peoples hold a unique place in our nation. We recognise the importance of their knowledge and culture, and reflect the principles of participation, equity, and cultural respect in our work. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future, and consider it an honour to learn from our Indigenous colleagues, partners, and friends.

Event information

The Regional Universities: Anchor Institutions Transforming their Regions Conference on 18 and 19 October on the Gold Coast was an opportunity to learn about and celebrate the unique contribution regional universities are making across Australia. The conference focused strongly on the role of universities in driving regional development through their teaching and learning, research and engagement activities.

The two-day event at Southern Cross University’s Gold Coast Campus, featured keynote presentations, panel discussions and workshops from outstanding international and local speakers including university leaders, regional development specialists, academic and professional staff, students and politicians. The conference has attracted involvement from the vast majority of regional campuses in Australia so will give delegates the chance to hear about innovative initiatives, share ideas and network with colleagues.
