The higher education sector is a permanently changed landscape. It needs Future Solutions now. This conference brings you the best global examples of innovative solutions for the future of our sector.
The tertiary education model needs new solutions amid changes in demand for domestic and international study, and rising costs and debts it brings students. Views of higher education and the skills and awards it generates have suffered.
Governments will not come to our rescue. And the sector continues to be burdened with administrative and regulatory restrictions stifling current business models and providing barriers to innovation. Meanwhile, we see innovative and disruptive solutions from private and not-for-profit institutions, backed by technology companies, private investment and employers.
The Future Solutions for Higher Education Conference presents an opportunity to showcase, consider and debate solutions as new ways forward. They offer hope and inspiration for learning providers, employers, and technology providers in a reimagined learning economy.
Among those discussing solutions and the way forward are Professor Deborah Terry AC, Vice-Chancellor and President of The University of Queensland, Professor John Dewar AO, Interim Vice-Chancellor and President of University of Wollongong, Professor Helen Bartlett Vice Chancellor and President of the University of the Sunshine Coast, Professor Simon Biggs, Vice-Chancellor and President of James Cook University and Professor Chris Moran Vice Chancellor and President of UNE.
Case studies include Cintana, partnering with independent higher education provider HCI and health service employer Ramsay Health Care enhancing nursing education in Australia through solutions powered by ASU.
Others currently on our stellar list of speakers include:
- Ann Kirschner, President Emerita of Hunter College of City University of New York, with a vision of a university in an AI world.
- Rose Luckin, of EDUCATE Ventures, showcasing breakthrough AI technologies, and their impact on the future of education.
- Patrick Kidd OBE OAM from the Future Skills Organisation outlining links needed between Higher Ed and VET to address the skills agenda.
- Linda Brown, CEO and President of BCorp Torrens University Australia outlining how private investment can be socially responsible.
- Josh Nester, who leads SEEK Investments in Brazil, Mexico, India and Australia.
