The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success acknowledges Indigenous peoples across Australia as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which the nation’s campuses are situated. With a history spanning more than 60,000 years as the original educators, Indigenous peoples hold a unique place in our nation. We recognise the importance of their knowledge and culture, and reflect the principles of participation, equity, and cultural respect in our work. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future, and consider it an honour to learn from our Indigenous colleagues, partners, and friends.

Western Sydney University invites you to attend the inaugural Australian Ally Conference.

The Ally Conference will explore:

  • how best to encourage improved communication between Higher Education Ally Networks
  • best practice for dealing with national and local issues regarding the Ally Networks
  • the latest research in LGBTIQA acceptance and equality
  • examples of leading practice in private enterprise and government, and
  • many other associated topics.

The Conference will also offer delegates a number of workshops and training opportunities and enable participants to share their experiences and network with colleagues from other universities.

All Ally members, trainers and educators – student and staff alike – are encouraged to attend and participate in this ground-breaking event.
