The Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training (ADCET) will host a webinar on Monday 16 May, presented by Brandon Taylor, Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy Manager at TAFE Queensland.

Event details

This ADCET webinar will focus on the small number of instances where a student’s mental ill health is so disruptive to their thinking, thoughts and/or behaviours that they are unable to engage and participate in their chosen courses. The session will work through what this behaviour can look like and how best to manage situations where there is a lack of progress and/or unacceptable behaviour relating to mental ill health.

Audience: This webinar is suitable for educators and faculty administration staff.

Presenter

Brandon Taylor – Mental Health & Wellbeing Strategy Manager, TAFE Queensland

Brandon Taylor is the Mental Health & Wellbeing Strategy Manager for TAFE Queensland. Prior to this, Brandon was the Student Support Manager serving the Brisbane region. He has worked in the VET sector as a teacher, Disability Officer and manager for 18 years. He has taught literacy, numeracy and life skills programs with disadvantaged youth, discrete learning programs for adults with disability in the workplace and additional support programs for students struggling to maintain their VET studies. He has managed multidisciplinary student support teams including counselling, disability, Indigenous and International Student Welfare.
