The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success acknowledges Indigenous peoples across Australia as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which the nation’s campuses are situated. We recognise the importance of their knowledge and culture, and reflect the principles of participation, equity, and cultural respect in our work. ACSES is hosting its inaugural ‘Access, Achievement, Accord 2024: The Australian Student Equity Symposium’ in Sydney on 21-22 May 2024.

Event information

The event brought together university leaders, experts, policymakers, youth representatives, and practitioners from the field of higher education to discuss crucial matters concerning student equity against a backdrop of the Australian Universities Accord final report and recommendations.

Access, Achievement, Accord 2024’ serves as a platform for sharing innovative ideas, exploring best practices, and addressing specific sector-wide challenges related to student equity in higher education.

The program included keynote addresses by:

  • Professor Mary O’Kane, Ministerial Accord Panel Chair
  • Dr Omar Khan, Chief Executive at TASO (Transforming Access and Student Outcomes in Higher Education)
