The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success acknowledges Indigenous peoples across Australia as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which the nation’s campuses are situated. With a history spanning more than 60,000 years as the original educators, Indigenous peoples hold a unique place in our nation. We recognise the importance of their knowledge and culture, and reflect the principles of participation, equity, and cultural respect in our work. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future, and consider it an honour to learn from our Indigenous colleagues, partners, and friends.

Event information

Held annually, the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) Research Conference highlights the latest national and international research in education.

Educational leaders play a crucial role in setting directions for improvement and innovation.

Research Conference 2017 will profile recent research into leadership practices and initiatives that have revitalised educational institutions and produced significant improvements in student engagement and performance. Leaders – whether or not they are in formal leadership roles – create the tone of an institution, set priorities and directions for change, build coherence and shared commitment across the community and maintain a sharp focus on measurable improvements in student outcomes.
