The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success acknowledges Indigenous peoples across Australia as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which the nation’s campuses are situated. With a history spanning more than 60,000 years as the original educators, Indigenous peoples hold a unique place in our nation. We recognise the importance of their knowledge and culture, and reflect the principles of participation, equity, and cultural respect in our work. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future, and consider it an honour to learn from our Indigenous colleagues, partners, and friends.

The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success welcomes the reappointment of the Hon. Jason Clare MP as Minister for Education following Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s announcement yesterday.

Minister Clare has been a driving force behind key higher education reforms and a strong advocate for fairer, more accessible learning opportunities across the country.

As we continue our work to close equity gaps in higher education, ACSES looks forward to ongoing collaboration with Minister Clare and the Australian Government Department of Education to support evidence-informed, student-centred policies.

Minister Clare was a keynote speaker at ACSES’s inaugural Access, Achievement, Accord Symposium last year, where he reaffirmed his commitment to student equity and the transformative power of education.

We extend our congratulations to the Minister and look forward to the next chapter in our shared mission to ensure that all students—regardless of background—have the opportunity to succeed.
