The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success acknowledges Indigenous peoples across Australia as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which the nation’s campuses are situated. With a history spanning more than 60,000 years as the original educators, Indigenous peoples hold a unique place in our nation. We recognise the importance of their knowledge and culture, and reflect the principles of participation, equity, and cultural respect in our work. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future, and consider it an honour to learn from our Indigenous colleagues, partners, and friends.

About

The Program will fund proposals that address contemporary developments and challenges in Australian domestic higher education equity policy, practice, and evaluation, on one of the following three research priorities:

  1. Alternative pathways to university and impact on academic outcomes
  2. Student wellbeing for success
  3. Collaboration for student equity and success – intra-sectoral (within higher education) and inter-sectoral (higher, vocational, and secondary education)

ACSES will be funding up to three projects to the value of $150,000 (excluding GST) each.

The duration of each project is expected to be 12 months, though this may vary depending on the final contractual agreement.

Successful EOI applicants will be notified in mid-April and invited to submit fuller proposals. Invited Proposals are due by mid-May, with notification of outcomes taking place in June 2024.

Projects and contract negotiations are expected to commence in July 2024. Project completion and acquittal will take place by August 2025.
