Overview
The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) invites you to the Equity Hub Community of Practice (CoP), which will be held in-person and online on 18 November at Waipapa Taumata Rau (The University of Auckland, New Zealand).
Equity Hub CoP aims to bring HEPPP-funded program managers and staff together to strengthen cross-institutional student equity practitioner networks; and provide an opportunity for practitioners to share their lessons learned and best practices on evaluation in the context of SEHEEF.

The preliminary program is as follows:

Session 1: Introduction and reflections on 2024 – what we have learned.

Session 2: Moving forward in 2025 – priorities, challenges, and opportunities.

Session 3: Drinks, light refreshments, and informal networking.
The CoP will be run by Dr Patrick Broman (Manager, National Student Equity Evaluation) with a presentation from Associate Professor Tim Pitman (Director, Trials and Evaluation Program).
LIVESTREAM
The first two sessions of the Equity Hub CoP will be livestreamed via Zoom. Please ensure that you select the correct ticket type when registering as in person attendance will be limited.

EPHEA CONFERENCE 2024
The timing and location of the Equity Hub CoP was chosen to coincide with the EPHEA Conference 2024, which is held from 19-22 November 2024. The two events need to be booked separately. Program and booking details for the EPHEA Conference 2024 can be found here.
About the speakers:
Dr Patrick Broman is the Manager, National Student Equity Evaluation at the Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success. Prior to his role at ACSES Patrick worked as HEPPP Evaluation Manager at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne. His previous experience includes senior operational policy roles at the New Zealand Ministry of Education and research roles at the Centre for Health and Social Practice, Waikato Institute of Technology and Te Ngira Institute for Population Research in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Associate Professor Tim Pitman is the Program Director, Trials and Evaluations, at ACSES. Tim is a researcher of higher education policy with a focus on widening access and participation for groups of students historically under-represented in higher education. This includes people from low-socio economic backgrounds, Indigenous people, people with disability, people from non-English speaking backgrounds and people from regional and remote parts of Australia. Tim is a former Senior Researcher and Equity Fellow with NCSEHE (now ACSES).
