The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success acknowledges Indigenous peoples across Australia as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which the nation’s campuses are situated. With a history spanning more than 60,000 years as the original educators, Indigenous peoples hold a unique place in our nation. We recognise the importance of their knowledge and culture, and reflect the principles of participation, equity, and cultural respect in our work. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future, and consider it an honour to learn from our Indigenous colleagues, partners, and friends.

Curtin University has five regional scholarships available for Western Australian students courtesy of the UniReady Enabling Program.

UniReady aims to help students who have not met Curtin’s minimum ATAR score to enrol into Health Sciences, Humanities, and Curtin Business School undergraduate courses. A one semester program, UniReady consists of four units designed to help future students prepare for university study.

The Regional Scholarship is open to those students who are:

  • interested in studying the UniReady course on campus
  • Australian or New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents, or holders of a humanitarian visa, and
  • past the compulsory school age in the first semester of 2014 (as defined by the Western Australian School Education Act 1999)

For more information, or to apply, visit the UniReady website.

Applications open 1 October 2013, and close 3 days after TISC first round offers are made.

NB: Since this post was published, there has been a slight change, and the regional scholarship is now also available to students entering Curtin’s Enabling Program for Science, Engineering and Health, as well as the Indigenous Tertiary Enabling Program. Curtin advises there will be at least one scholarship allocated to each of these programs.
